AGM 2023

We will be holding our annual AGM on 10th May, 2023 via Zoom.

Our guest speaker is Rebecca Rice, Curator of Historical Art at Te Papa. Her talk -

'More than sentimental: Women and botanical publications in 19th century Aotearoa and the Pacific.' will follow the AGM.

A bit about Rebecca -

Rebecca is an art historian who specialises in in the field of colonial New Zealand art, with a particular interest in the histories of collecting, exhibition, and display. Following a degree in Art History at Victoria University of Wellington, Rebecca has been involved with the arts for many years working with the Royal Opera, New Zealand School of Dance, Creative New Zealand among others. In January this year she became the curator of Historical New Zealand art at Te Papa in Wellington.

Her current research focuses on the visual culture of the New Zealand Wars, and the impact of impressionism on New Zealand artists at home and abroad.

But tonight she will be talking about early New Zealand Botanical artists  -‘ 'More than sentimental: Women and botanical publications in 19th century Aotearoa and the Pacific.'
