‘Janet is a very well-known New Zealand wildlife and botanical artist. In the 1970s she illustrated the Mobil field guides to NZ birds and later illustrated many adult and children’s NZ flora and Fauna books. Over the years Janet has been commissioned to produce numerous illustrations for various wildlife societies and NZ post where her beautiful illustrations could be seen on stamps. Janet likes to work in many different media such as gouache, watercolour, acrylic and even metalpoint but it is pen and wash that she prefers for her botanical work reflecting the traditional style of botanical illustration.’
