Artistic approach:
Growing up near the New Forest in southern England I acquired a healthy respect and love of nature and all things beautiful around me. Regular trips into the forest resulted in bunches of violets, primroses, bluebells and other wild flowers plus visual adventures in the lives of small insects and plants. 9this was long before we were made aware of close conservation) My mother encouraged close observation and these skills have given me much pleasure throughout my life. So much so that I have been driven to express this in my art.
Moving around the world to live in many areas has kept this interest alive and particularly here in New Zealand. Many a time I just walk into the bush near my home and just’ soak it up’.
Meantime I have developed painting and other handcrafts in my spare time with various courses including BA with a major in Art History at Auckland University.
Always learning and refining but from sheer pleasure which I hope to share with others.
