Gillian Receveur - ‘Botanical Artist of the Month’ for March

Gillian features as the November’s ‘Botanical Artist of the Month’ in Kings Seeds’ March newsletter -

‘Havelock North artist Gillian Receveur specialises in colour pencil drawings of botanical specimens to achieve accuracy and precision. In 2014 Gillian applied to the Society of Botanical Artists in the UK to study from which she graduated from The Art Worker’s Guild, London in April 2017.

She uses mainly Faber Castelle pencils as they hold a point well, a requirement for detailed work. Gillian’s work is published in New Zealand Artist’s magazine, The Garden
Journal, “Botanical Painting” by Margaret Stevens. Her work was accepted for
the Worldwide Botanical Exhibition.

Gillian exhibits within New Zealand, receiving commissions for her work.’

A print of her beautiful colour pencil work, ‘Pachystegia insignis Marlborough rock daisy’ was part of a give-away by Kings Seeds earlier in the year.
