Member’s Social Evening - Margaret Flockton Award - 27th June, 7pm

Botanical illustrators, Catherine Wardrop and Lesley Elkan from the Botanic Gardens Sydney, will chat about their role as illustrators in the new state-of-the-art facility, the National Herbarium of NSW at Mt Annan (50km sw of Sydney), PLUS discuss the ever expanding annual Margaret Flockton Award, highlighting artists and techniques.

The Margaret Flockton Award is an annual competition where the world’s best botanical illustrators vie for the prestigious award. The award is unusual in that it is a competition for botanical Illustration only - not botanical art. As such the work is usually produced in black and white, either ink, scraperboard or digitally produced.
